Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes. We offer same-day appointments for both wellness care and sick visits. Availability varies by day, so we recommend calling early in the morning to secure a same-day opening.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
New clients are welcome to complete a new client request form on our website before their visit. If your pet has prior medical records from another veterinarian, bringing those along helps us provide more complete care from the very first visit.
Is Montrose Animal Hospital AAHA-accredited, and what does it mean that Montrose Animal Hospital is AAHA-accredited?
AAHA — the American Animal Hospital Association — is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. Accreditation is entirely voluntary, and fewer than 15% of veterinary hospitals have earned it. AAHA-accredited hospitals are evaluated against approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence covering patient care, pain management, diagnostics, staff training, surgery, and medical record-keeping. We are re-evaluated every three years to maintain our accreditation status.
Why does AAHA accreditation matter to my pet?
It means the care your pet receives at Montrose has been independently verified to meet the highest standards in veterinary medicine — not just the minimum required by state law. When you choose an AAHA-accredited hospital, you’re choosing a practice that holds itself accountable to excellence in every aspect of care.
What veterinary services do you offer?
Montrose Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital offering wellness exams for dogs and cats at every life stage, internal medicine, dental care, dermatology, diagnostic services, surgery, in-house laboratory testing, nutrition and diet counseling, microchipping, behavior consultations, and an in-house pharmacy. We also offer cardiology, orthopedics, ultrasound, and laser surgery.
Do you see both dogs and cats?
Yes. We provide comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, including dedicated canine and feline wellness programs for puppies, kittens, adults, and seniors.
Do you have an in-house laboratory and pharmacy?
Yes to both. Our in-house laboratory allows us to run many diagnostic tests quickly, so we can begin treatment faster. Our in-house pharmacy means most prescriptions can be filled on-site at the time of your visit. We also offer an online pharmacy for your convenience.
What do you do if my pet has an emergency during business hours?
If your pet has an emergency during our business hours, call us immediately at (770) 977-9000 and let us know you’re on your way. This allows our team to prepare for your arrival and begin treatment as quickly as possible.

Basic bathing is also available for an additional fee and includes premium shampoo, conditioning, blow drying, brush out, ear cleaning, nail dremel, and external anal gland expression.
What vaccinations are required for boarding?
