Urinary Tract Infections
“My dog gets a lot of urinary tract infections, but they are otherwise healthy. Should I be concerned that this continues to occur despite treatment? Can this indicate a larger problem? What causes this and what can I do to prevent this? What is the best treatment?”
There are quite a few different underlying causes that may lead to recurrent, urinary tract infections. If there have been several infections in a 2-3 month period, a work up should be done with blood work, urine culture and possibly x-rays to rule out bladder stones.
There are several, specialized diets to help prevent urinary tract infections.
