Montrose Animal Hospital and Pet Hotel has a surgical suite equipped with state-of-the-art veterinary surgical equipment and offers a wide variety of surgical services for your pet. Our experienced, professional staff will treat your pet with the upmost care and compassion as if it were our own.
Perhaps the most important pre-surgical step we take is to discuss why we believe a particular procedure is necessary, what the surgery entails, and expected recovery times. We also provide information on proper postoperative care and answer any questions you may have so that you feel comfortable that you are making the right choice for your pet.
Prior to surgery, our staff will examine your pet and we may recommend pre-surgical blood work to ensure that your pet is a safe candidate for general anesthesia. Your pet will be placed on IV fluids and given a sedative.
When possible, we utilize state-of-the-art laser equipment to perform surgical procedures. The use of laser equipment in surgery minimizes the pain that follows an operation because it seals the nerve endings as they are cut. In addition, the laser has virtually no effect on the surrounding tissues, meaning we can more precisely pinpoint the surgical area.
